Hi, I’m Sara, and this is my blog.

In this space you’ll find articles dedicated to the most common emotional experiences of people living abroad.

If you live abroad and are going through a difficult time: you can start here

If you’ve arrived on this page, it’s likely that living abroad is not going as you had imagined.

Maybe you feel confused, lonely, disoriented.

Or perhaps you’re going through an emotional struggle that you can’t quite explain.

You are not the only person experiencing this.

Many Italians living abroad go through phases like this, even if it’s not often spoken about openly.

What is really happening

When you move to another country, it’s not just your physical location that changes.

Other things change too:

  • your sense of belonging
  • your social network
  • your daily habits
  • the way you feel internally

This process can lead to phases such as:

  • culture shock
  • loneliness
  • difficulty adapting
  • moments of emotional crisis

It’s not “just you”

What you are experiencing does not mean you made the wrong choice.

It means you are going through an adaptation process that may be more complex than expected.

If you are feeling stuck

Many people living abroad reach a point where they feel suspended:

  • not fully at home in the new country
  • but no longer fully connected to Italy

This feeling is more common than you might think.

Support can help you gain clarity

If you recognize yourself in what I’ve described and feel the need to better understand what you are going through, you can contact me for a mentoring journey dedicated to Italians living abroad.

The goal is not to “resist” or “adapt at all costs,” but to regain clarity, balance, and direction.

Start here

If you don’t know where to begin, you can start by reading one of the three main paths:

  • Culture shock
  • Loneliness abroad
  • Crisis and dissatisfaction abroad

If you’d like to work together, book a free introductory session. If you just want to read, welcome.
